On this day, Svetlana happened to meet Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. Seeing her struggling to lift a large box of matzah, he stepped out of his car to help.
“To be honest, I didn’t recognize him at first. But when I realized he was the Queens Borough President, I was deeply touched by his kindness—and now by his participation in this mitzvah for our community.
