FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — September 6, 2026 — Two prominent members of Queens’ Jewish community will hold a press conference on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. near Jerusalem Bagels, located at 64-48 108th Street in Forest Hills.
During the press conference, the community leaders will formally announce their decision to leave the Democratic Party, citing concerns about the party’s current direction and its relationship with the Jewish community.
The announcement is expected to receive significant attention within Queens’ Jewish community. The organizers believe that thousands of community members across Queens may follow their lead and reconsider their political affiliation in response to the announcement.
The press conference will feature Rabbi Nahum Kaziev, of Druzhba magazine and creator of DruzhbaTV, and Rafael Nektalov founder and editor in chief Nektalov of the Bukharian Times. Both will participate as representatives of Queens’ Jewish community.
The event will provide an opportunity for the community leaders to explain their decision, discuss the issues that contributed to it, and outline their vision for the political future of Queens’ Jewish community.
