Rafael Nektalov, Coordinator of the Congress of Bukharian Jews of the United States and Canada and Editor-in-Chief of the Bukharian Times newspaper, has been awarded the Republic of Azerbaijan’s “For Services to Diaspora Activities” Medal on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
The medal was presented to Rafael Nektalov on August 14 in New York by Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
For many years, Rafael Nektalov has been actively involved in promoting the truth about Azerbaijan in the United States and Canada, developing ties between the Azerbaijani diaspora and the Bukharian Jewish community, and strengthening diaspora activities.
Under his leadership, the Bukharian Times newspaper not only covers the history, culture, and social life of Bukharian Jews, but also pays particular attention to bringing information about Azerbaijan to the international community, reported Azerbaijani publication Voice Press.
